Responsibilities
We are seeking Student Nurses to join our clinical teams at Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Kansas City, KS.
The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of an RN the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded. All newly hired externs will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level.
Unit Options: Multiple including: Med/Surg/Tele/ICU/ED
Employment Type: Per Diem (as needed) we work around clinicals and school schedules
Shifts Available: Varies
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing progam and 1st semester of Nursing School2. Must be in good and academic standing 3. Current Basic Life Support Certification 4. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred .but not requried.
