Overview
What You Will Do
As a Project Payroll Administrator , you will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for hourly and salaried employees, with a strong focus on union payroll compliance . This role partners closely with HR, field operations, and finance to ensure payroll is processed in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and federal and state regulations.
A Typical Day at Prime Controls
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees with a high degree of accuracy.
Interpret and apply union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) , including wage rates, fringes, classifications, overtime rules, and shift differentials.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees with a high degree of accuracy.
Interpret and apply union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) , including wage rates, fringes, classifications, overtime rules, and shift differentials.
Ensure Proper Payroll Treatment For Union Requirements Such As
- Prevailing wage and certified payroll (as applicable)
- Union deductions, benefits, and reporting
- Job classifications and work jurisdiction rules
- Audit timecards and payroll data to verify accuracy, approvals, and compliance with labor agreements and company policy.
- Coordinate with project teams and field leadership to resolve payroll discrepancies and timekeeping issues.
- Prepare and submit union reports, benefit contributions, and supporting documentation as required .
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and internal reporting.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and support onboarding changes related to pay, union status, and job assignments.
- Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Use payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and Microsoft Office tools to document and communicate payroll information.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all payroll , tax, and data privacy requirements.
The Basic
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
- 3 years of payroll experience, including hands-on union payroll processing
- Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union payroll rules
- Experience auditing timecards and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems
- Construction, industrial, or field-based payroll experience
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Familiarity with prevailing wage or certified payroll requirements
- Experience working with multiple unions and benefit funds
