What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precast Concrete Material Handler position at Prime Contractor Supply Corporation?
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for handling, inspecting, and preparing materials and finished precast products for shipment. You will ensure all outgoing products meet quality standards, match sales or shipping orders, and are safely staged and loaded for transport. In addition, you will support the production team with general labor duties, including assisting in precast concrete production when needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move raw materials and finished products throughout the plant and yard.
- Inspect products scheduled for shipment to confirm accuracy, quality, and compliance with sales or shipping orders.
- Verify that shipping paperwork matches items being staged or loaded for delivery.
- If needed, safely load and unload trucks, ensuring products are secured and protected for transport.
- Maintain an organized yard and inventory of materials to support efficient production and shipping operations.
- Collaborate with the shipping and production teams to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Assist with general plant labor duties when needed, including:
- Preparing and stripping molds.
- Pouring and finishing concrete.
- Cleaning tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Adhere to all safety policies, promptly reporting and addressing potential hazards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in material handling, shipping, or warehouse operations strongly preferred; experience in concrete or construction is a plus.
- Forklift operation experience required; overhead crane experience strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure shipping accuracy and product quality.
- Ability to read shipping documents, sales orders, and basic measurements (tape measure).
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 4:30p.
- Physically able to lift/move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), work outdoors, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy items for extended periods.
- Exposure to outdoor weather and varying environmental conditions.
