Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth flow of patient flow.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for therapy sessions.
- Support patients during therapy exercises, providing encouragement and ensuring proper technique under supervision.
- Monitor patient progress during sessions, noting any changes or concerns to relay to the therapy team.
- Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, treatments administered, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Ensure all therapy equipment is properly maintained, sanitized, and stored according to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering emotional support, and fostering a welcoming environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience in hospital or clinical settings is highly preferred, especially within inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, and those in post-acute or sub-acute care settings.
- Demonstrated ability to support patients with acute care needs and assist during intake procedures.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine protocols and outpatient clinic operations is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light equipment or assist patients as needed, maintaining safety standards at all times.
