Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all safety protocols
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including pediatrics, pain management, and acute care cases.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to optimize medication plans and medical management strategies.
- Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including stock control, medication ordering, and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Support pharmacy technician staff by overseeing workflow, providing guidance on pharmacy software systems, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, medication records, and incident reports to uphold safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience.
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems (Prime RX) EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient service tasks such as patient assessment, and pain management protocols.
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
