Dental Sterilization Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for our dental practice. This position requires a strong understanding of sterilization processes, as well as familiarity with dental terminology and equipment. The Sterilization Technician will ensure that all instruments and materials are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and safety regulations.
• Monitor sterilization processes and maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles.
• Assist in the preparation of treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are available and sterile.
• Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
• Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
• Adhere to proper waste disposal procedures for hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential.
• Experience as a dental receptionist or in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
• Knowledge of sterilization software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous.
• Understanding of medical imaging, medical coding, and X-Ray procedures is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
