Automotive Lot Attendant/Porter

The Company: Prime Auto USA is an independent used car dealership located in Jackson, TN with a full sales team, finance team, client success team and service team with a total of about 30 employees and selling just under 50-80 cars per month. We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an multi-point inspection as well as on-going repairs for our free VSC and customer pay work. Porters report to the Service Manager or to whom the Service Manager directs. They have the following responsibilities:

Job Description: As thePorter you will play an extremely important role in customer satisfaction and the overall continued success of our company. In this role, you are responsible for inventory management and will perform various tasks and errands for the service department. A Porter is someone that has demonstrated proficiency in all requirements of a Porter Trainee and in addition has been trained and demonstrated *proficiency while under general supervision in the following areas:

• Obtain and maintain a forklift license and use it maintain cars orderly on the lot.
• Remove, replace, balance, and install tires and wheels as needed.
• Remove, replace, and program Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors.
• Utilize all available technology and tools required to complete tasks as prescribed by the Service Staff.
• Pick up and drop off parts and cars at different locations as needed.
• Remove trash and keep the location clean and orderly.
• *Proficiency means capability to properly, accurately and timely complete the task described independently.

Duties: The Porter is responsible to adhere to and demonstrate their ability to be proficient in the above listed requirements for the position for which they are employed.

It is typical for the Porter to complete the following work daily:

• Login to Paychex and Rapid Recon to report time worked and what work is completed.
• Maintain the shop, lot and interior of building clean and orderly. This will require mowing grass, trimming hedges, cutting limbs and trees, emptying trash receptacles and taking trash out and cleaning facilities as needed to maintain a clean orderly environment.
• Assist technicians in any way requested such as picking up parts, dropping and picking cars up, detailing cars, assisting technicians in their task and anything that will increase the flow, safety and efficiency of the shop.

Expected Results:

• The team achieving the monthly goals.
• Completing work within a reasonable time frame based on industry averages.
• Completing work in a quality manner such that cars are not found to have deficiencies prior to selling or shortly after selling that should have been found in the diagnosis and subsequently repaired prior to sale or at the time work is completed for a customer.
• As a team, ensuring that customers receive their cars back timely.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:

• Demonstrated abilities utilizing technology the company utilizes accurately, timely and consistently.
• A High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record allowing to qualify for our insurance.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for company insurance purposes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
