SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Operations Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the support functions critical to the effective operation of airport activities. This role ensures the seamless delivery of services by coordinating with various operational departments, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. This position involves considerable travel and requires a proactive leader who can train local teams, ensure compliance with operational standards, and effectively engage with customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of travel management, including candidate selection for travel, itinerary planning, travel bookings, and post-trip evaluations
- Oversee the support functions critical to the smooth running of airport operations
- Coordinate with various operational departments to ensure efficient service delivery
- Develop and implement support strategies to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage and optimize the use of resources, including staffing, equipment, and technology
- Provide ongoing training and development for support staff
- Monitor compliance with industry regulations and company policies
- Implement and maintain systems for tracking and reporting operational performance
- Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure coordinated operations
- Address and resolve operational challenges and issues promptly
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes
- Prepare and manage the budget for the operations support department
- Foster a culture of safety and compliance among team members
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in operations
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations support team
- Collaborate with senior management to align support services with overall business objectives
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to work in office, onsite, Monday-Friday
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Minimum 3 years of aviation/distribution experience
- Aviation industry knowledge preferred
- Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
- Travel requirements up to 50%
