We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Baltimore or Fairfax office.
Position Overview:
The Traffic Engineer will support the design and analysis of transportation projects with a focus on traffic engineering solutions. The position involves hands-on design work, data analysis, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality traffic engineering services for a range of public infrastructure projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis for traffic studies such as signal warrant analyses, traffic impact studies, and corridor safety assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of traffic control device designs including traffic signals, signage and pavement markings.
- Prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, signing, striping, and temporary traffic control.
- Support senior engineers in preparing technical memos, reports, and exhibits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Proficiency with traffic engineering design and analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- General knowledge of the MUTCD and other applicable engineering standards
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
