We are seeking an accomplished Senior Traffic Project Manager to join our Columbus or Akron office and lead high-profile traffic engineering projects across Ohio.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of project delivery—managing design teams, coordinating subconsultants, overseeing budgets and schedules, and ensuring quality and compliance with ODOT standards.
As a licensed Ohio PE with 10 years of progressive traffic design and project management experience, you’ll bring proven expertise in both preliminary and final design of ODOT projects. You’ll also mentor junior engineers, engage directly with clients, and represent PRIME AE in industry associations. Key Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and oversee the work of design engineers and engineering technicians.
- Actively manage and oversee the work of Project / Design Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
- Develop scope and fee proposals for various bridge design and related transportation projects.
- Oversee and track project schedules and budgets. Report and estimate Project financials.
- Assemble design teams and coordinate and assess the activities and deliverables of the various subconsultants and disciplines associated with the project.
- Provide Quality control and oversee the preparation of detailed engineering designs of bridge projects. Including plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Develop and mentor the bridge engineering skillsets of junior and entry level design engineers.
- This position requires frequent client interaction, report preparation, oral presentations, and proposal development.
- Participate in industry associations and make presentations.
- Crucial to this position is an emphasis on unwavering professionalism with clients, staff and subconsultants.
What You'll Bring:
- BSCE (required) or MSCE (preferred)
- Active Ohio PE registration is required.
- 10 years minimum progressive experience in a combination of traffic design and project management responsibilities.
- Preliminary and Final design experience with ODOT projects, specifications, and guidelines required.
- Demonstrated experience with project related construction phase services and shop drawing review.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
