We are currently seeking a Project Manager I – W/WW to join our Lexington, KY office.
What You’ll Do:
This role is geared toward an early-mid career engineer ready to take on project management responsibilities while still receiving guidance from senior staff. You will support and manage a range of municipal and private-sector water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including distribution and collection systems, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment plant improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage small to mid-sized water/wastewater projects with oversight from senior project managers.
- Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact, helping facilitate meetings, gather project information, and provide basic project updates.
- Coordinate internal design efforts by assigning tasks to engineers and technicians and monitoring progress.
- Support QA/QC by reviewing plans, calculations, and technical deliverables.
- Prepare design documents, reports, cost estimates, and permitting packages.
- Coordinate with public agencies, utilities, subconsultants, and regulatory reviewers.
- Contribute to proposal development by assisting with technical content, resumes, project descriptions, and cost inputs.
- Track project performance, help prepare invoicing, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by supporting communication, problem-solving, and efficient project delivery.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or related infrastructure projects.
- EIT required; PE license preferred or actively in progress.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or public-sector agencies.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work directly with clients under moderate guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and maintain project momentum.
- A collaborative mindset with interest in developing leadership and project management skills.
