Job Overview
The Quality Production Inspector performs component level inspection on complex printed circuit boards. This position uses a microscope to inspect and identify assembly defects as well as visual aids and verbal and written instructions to inspect assemblies to IPC standards. Provides input to Assembly personnel to improve quality and efficiency. Must be a US citizen as we are an ITAR secure facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Identifies quality defects per IPC-A-610 and communicates findings with SMT operator and management.
- Maintains records of all quality inspections and rework performed.
- Assures proper routing of inspected assemblies.
- Inspects PCB assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection Machine (AOI).
- Thru-hole and SMD touch up capability.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with manufacturing standard operating procedures.
- Previous experience with circuit board assembly, maintenance and/or repair.
- Basic working knowledge and experience with computers.
- Soldering experience.
Safety
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Support and follow all ISO standards. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 15 lbs. in an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to work under a microscope for 6-8 hours daily.
- Be able to perform light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Software used:
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Email, Internet).
Working Conditions:
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
Production (Hours vary by department needs)
1st shift: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
2nd shift: 3:15 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.
Weekend and overtime work may be required.
