About Primary

Primary is building agentic cash and treasury software for multi-national growth companies. We were Australia's Emerging Fintech of the Year in 2025, are backed by venture firms like Carthona Capital, Afterwork Ventures & Archangel Ventures. We are now building our US business from the ground up from New York.

We're looking to hire in our FX Sales team. You'll be critical to how Primary wins FX in the US. You'll sell our FX and hedging products to finance teams, educate the market on how FX is really priced and help design the agentic hedging product our clients will run their exposure through.

This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role for someone who can go from first conversation to exposure analysis to hedging strategy to executed trade fast. You've likely been an FX broker or sold forward contracts to corporates before. You should be excited to be in the NYC office building alongside the team.

Why this role exists

You should be able to:

• Show US finance teams what they are really paying for FX and what wholesale pricing looks like
• Turn a company's currency exposure into a clear hedging strategy their CFO and board can sign off on
• Sell and structure FX products end to end, from spot through to forwards
• Bring what you hear from clients back into the product, so our hedging agents reflect how good treasury teams operate

Most growth companies in the US overpay for FX and hedge reactively, if at all. Your north star is helping build our FX business in the US, but you'll take on far more responsibility in an early stage team.

What you'll do

You'll own FX for Primary in the US. Some of the work will be sales shaped, some advisory shaped, some product shaped:

• Run FX conversations with CFOs, controllers and treasury leads through to pricing and close.
• Build hedging strategies and policies for clients across spot, forwards and other hedging products.
• Work alongside the sales team on multi product deals.
• Support education of the US market on FX pricing and FX strategy through content, webinars, events and direct conversations with finance leaders.
• Work with product and engineering to design our agentic hedging product, bringing the judgement of an experienced FX dealer to how the agents should behave.
• Test new functionality with clients and feed what you learn back to the team.

What we're looking for

• 2-6 years selling FX products to corporates at an FX broker, bank or fintech, now looking to go early stage.
• You've sold forward contracts and structured hedging programs yourself and can explain hedging to a finance team that has never done it.
• Deep understanding of FX pricing. Spreads, forward points and how banks brokers make their margin.
• A track record of hitting or beating a volume or revenue target.
• Strong communicator, comfortable presenting to a CFO or a room of finance leaders.
• You've already built AI agents for yourself to automate parts of your existing role or personal life.

Expected target compensation for this role is $100,000-$140,000 base, plus uncapped commission on FX revenue and meaningful equity.
