Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Network Permitting Specialist to support the deployment of communications facilities, including installation on poles, fiber, and other related infrastructure. This role involves preparing and submitting various entitlement applications, permits, and agreements and requires a deep understanding of municipal codes, zoning ordinances, and permitting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience interfacing with local governments and a working knowledge of telecommunication regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
Essential Job Functions:Prepare and submit zoning and permitting applications for communications infrastructure projects.
Track and facilitate permit processes, addressing jurisdictional requests and ensuring timely approvals.
Collaborate with design teams to generate construction documentation for node, power, and OSP builds.
Lead entitlement discussions in internal and customer-facing meetings.
Interpret and apply local/state codes and federal legislation (e.g., FCC Orders, Section 6409(a)).
Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and municipal agencies for permit compliance.
Maintain and report financial data related to permitting and entitlement costs.
Participate in project planning sessions to align entitlement timelines with broader project goals.
Ensure complete and compliant permit submittals per municipal and state regulations.
Manage closeout of permits following construction completion.
Develop and maintain relationships with city councils, zoning boards, and other stakeholders.
Represent the company at public hearings and municipal meetings as required.
Assist with review and compliance of agreements in collaboration with legal counsel.
Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders regarding access rights and project deployment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school may substitute for relevant experience.
Wireless industry and zoning/permitting experience preferred but not required.
Minimum of 2 years in municipal planning, zoning, or a similar role within the wireless or telecom industry.
Strong experience in municipal or government environments and familiarity with corporate operations.
Proficiency with planning and zoning regulations and site development procedures.
Experience presenting to governmental and public entities.
Familiarity with zoning applications, public hearing procedures, and permitting documentation.
Understanding of construction plans, land use terminology, and title documentation.
Strong analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally.
Travel to local government offices and municipalities is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
