Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Accounting Associate I with our power technology client in Shoreview, MN. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Description:
We are seeking a candidate with an accounting or bookkeeping background to fulfill this role. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software, as they will be working in Oracle, and should be comfortable navigating financial systems. This position involves performing reconciliations, reviewing and verifying purchase orders for accuracy in amounts and quantities, analyzing order management notes, and collaborating cross-functionally with various teams to resolve discrepancies. Strong spreadsheet skills and overall computer proficiency are essential. This role is well suited for a former accountant or an individual who possesses strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and reviews report for areas of emphasis and follow-up.
- Educates customers on accounting all aspects of an accounting or finance operation or subsystem; supports other financial processes as needed.
- Coordinates aspects of an accounting or finance operation or subsystem.
- Resolves problems that arise in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual processes involving various customers.
- Develops and analyzes data to support management reports, forecasts, and plans, coordinates customer inquiries and associated processes.
- Prepares journal entries, invoices, and other accounting documentation; performs account reconciliations as part of the closing process.
- Supports other daily financial processes such as purchase requisitions, invoice reconciliation, supplier payments, and requests for checks, and questions concerning monthly budget data.
- Bachelor's Degree is required, ideally in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of relevant experience in:
- Accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including ability to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and support reporting and forecasting activities
- Experience working with accounting systems (preferably Oracle or similar ERP platforms) and navigating financial modules with confidence
- Strong understanding of core accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end close
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, validate purchase orders, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve financial issues
This role follows a hybrid schedule, with employees working from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday through Thursday. For the first couple of weeks, the new hire will be required to work 100% onsite for training and onboarding purposes. We are seeking candidates who have a reliable and professional work-from-home setup to ensure productivity on remote days. Please note that this is not a fully remote position and will not transition into a remote-only role.
