What We're Looking For:
- 10 years of corporate tax experience from public accounting, a law firm, or a large corporate tax department
- CPA or JD strongly preferred; master's in taxation also considered
- Federal and state income tax experience with consolidated returns, reorganizations, tax credits, accounting methods, apportionment, and controversy/audit defense
- Hands-on, independent worker; experience with fixed assets, deferred taxes, and regulated industries such as utilities or banking is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel; SAP experience a plus
What You'll Be Doing:
- Tax Planning and Advisory: Research and assess federal and state tax developments and translate them into practical recommendations for senior leadership
- Modeling and Scenario Analysis: Build multi-state models and apportionment analyses to support strategic business decisions
- Transaction Support: Advise on the tax implications of third-party transactions and serve as the go-to tax resource across the organization
- Audit Defense and Controversy: Manage federal and state tax audits, defend complex positions, and oversee resolution with taxing authorities
- Regulatory Support: Partner with internal teams to ensure tax strategy is aligned with regulatory filings and rate case positions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Treasury, Legal, Finance, and operational teams to make sure tax considerations are built into business planning from the start
Salary : $142,500 - $163,000
