Duties
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures including X-ray and phlebotomy.
- Support patient intake processes by collecting medical histories, updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), and verifying insurance information.
- Assist healthcare providers with medication administration, wound care, and basic life support procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, anatomy and physiology notes, and medication records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems proficiently for documentation, scheduling, and communication within the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) management and medical office management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
