Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
- Demolition & Prep: Tearing down walls, removing old fixtures, and preparing sites for new installations.
- Carpentry & Construction: Framing new walls, installing windows/doors, and finish carpentry (trim, cabinetry, molding).
- Drywall & Finishes: Installing drywall, taping, painting, and applying textures.
- Installing Fixtures: Setting up new counters, cabinets, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures (sinks, faucets).
- Site Management: Ensuring the work area is clean, safe, and complies with building codes.
- Client Collaboration: Interacting with homeowners to understand their vision and providing updates on project progress.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in framing, cabinetry, and finish work.
- Versatility: Ability to transition between different trades (e.g., framing to tiling).
- Problem-Solving: Capability to handle unexpected structural issues hidden behind old walls.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (50-80 lbs), stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Tool Expertise: Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers).
