Certified Medical Coder

PCA is seeking a Certified Professional Coder with a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting coding, preferably in Family Medicine. Must be proficient in EMR's, can multi-take, follow coding guidelines, excellent communication skills bother verbally and in writing. They will conduct audits and code reviews on all documentation of medical providers to ensure accuracy and optimum billing recoupment are met for PCA.

Responsibilities:

• Posting and correcting claims
• Assist with denials and appeals regarding coding issues
• Work with daily charges, consults and surgeries
• Assist with NCCI edits and claim denials
• Create and manage charge reconciliation monthly reports
• Assists patients, facilities and staff with coding questions
• Code charges using correct CPT and ICD9/10 codes
• Perform chart audits
• Educate Physicians and staff on current coding rules
• Reconcile lab charges
• Other duties as requested and assigned

Qualifications:

· Primary Care or Family Practice coding experience preferred

·1 years of billing and coding experience in a Medical Office setting required

· CPC Certification required
