What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Primary Addiction Medicine Care of Connecticut LLC?
We are a new medical office searching for medical assistant/receptionist and hoping to fill 1 current part-time opening. This is a starting position and ideal for new graduates of medical assistant programs who are looking for an office that they can grow with. We are also willing to train candidates who have little to no experience.
If you have experience with doing vital signs, EKGs, and have worked on the EMR platform Eclinicalworks than that would earn a higher starting payrate.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures to ensure a positive first impression
- Take accurate patient histories, record vital signs, and document medical information efficiently
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during medical procedures
- Collect lab specimens, perform basic diagnostic tests, and ensure proper sample handling
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and maintain organized medical records
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance tips
- Support administrative tasks such as billing, insurance verification, and data entry to keep clinic operations seamless
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare certification or training preferred
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is advantageous but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect compassionately with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and infection control protocols
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
- A proactive attitude with the motivation to learn and grow within the healthcare field
