Title: Social Media & Community Manager
Reports to: Director of Brand Marketing
Location: Southern California; available for occasional travel to company HQ and location-based shoots.
Compensation: $97,500-$115,000 DOE bonus participation

Our Founder Bethany McDaniel started Primally Pure in 2015 out of a personal desire to approach skincare from more of a holistic perspective and less of a clinical one. Having used all sorts of harsh prescription creams and pills to treat her acne as a teenager and young adult (and dealing with red, raw, irritated skin as a result), Bethany was blown away by the effects she eventually experienced after ditching the harsh chemicals and replacing them with simple natural ingredients. Bethany’s journey inspired her to start Primally Pure (with an initial $250 order for ingredients supplies) to help others experience the benefits of using clean products.
Although Primally Pure has grown exponentially since our launch in 2015 (an average of 175% year over year), our team still exemplifies the same level of passion and scrappiness that allowed Bethany to succeed back when she was making products in her kitchen, labeling them in her living room and shipping packages in her bedroom.
We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Manager with sharp instincts for creating and sharing scroll-stopping content. This role will manage the development and execution of growth-focused social strategies across multiple platforms, leading a small team of accomplished social media marketers. Reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing, the ideal Social Media & Community Manager is a master collaborator and storyteller, someone who lives and breathes social media, and is excited to scale a brand with strong cultural relevance and continued growth potential.
Own and evolve our organic social strategy with a clear focus on brand awareness growth (reach, engagement, new followers)
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure social media strategy is closely aligned with core brand values, product positioning, evergreen and seasonal content priorities, and e-commerce growth initiatives
Create and manage monthly social media calendars for all Primally Pure organic social channels
Oversee the development and execution of content creation, identifying and deploying internal and external resources to ensure consistent flow of high quality, compelling and resonate social content
Spot trends early and accurately translate them into content that feels authentic and brand native
Maintain a consistent and elevated brand presence while adapting content to feel native to each platform
Create and implement extensive testing strategy, reiterate and modify to meet established KPIs
Oversee community management, building and nurturing a community of brand obsessed evangelists
Identify and utilize emerging social tools and platforms relevant to Primally Pure’s existing and prospective customers
Responsible for monitoring and sharing consumer feedback and sentiment to help shape social strategy, as well as overall brand and product strategy
Manages, mentors and leads social media team
Work closely with Primally Pure Influencer team to amplify content and brand storytelling
Responsible for writing and sharing organic social media KPI reporting and performance analysis
5 years of social media management experience, ideally with a beauty, skincare, or wellness brand
Experience managing social media channels for a consumer-facing brand with at least 100,000 followers
Deep understanding of established social media channels, as well as emerging platforms
Disruptor mindset, comfortable pushing boundaries and experimenting with new ways of working
Excellent communication skills with an ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional partners
Experience creating and executing a social strategy that drives increased brand awareness, customer acquisition and community connectivity
Successful track record creating organic content that followers save, share and talk about (either personally or professionally)
Comfortable in front of and behind the camera
Experience managing employees and/or external partners
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Salary : $97,000 - $115,000
