Our clients range from global product companies to local start-ups. Our work is varied and fast paced. This technician will support hardware development involving electro-mechanical design, prototyping, laboratory testing, analysis, and manufacturing implementation. We are looking for experienced technicians who can work independently and who can clearly communicate with managers, engineers and co-workers.
Required Skills:
PCBA manual assembly (Parts ordering from BOM, hand placement of SMT/Through-hole components, hand and air-gun soldering).
Ability to build cable assemblies (interpret drawings, familiarity crimping process and quality expectations)
Familiarity with hand tools, multimeter, and parts for assembling electrical and mechanical test setups.
Ability to understand and generate engineering drawings (block diagrams, mechanical assemblies, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams)
Familiarity with E-mail use and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Preferred skills (not required but greatly valued):
Understanding of electrical circuits and schematics.
Electronics parts entry and layout in Altium Designer (Understanding of PCBA layout principles, proficient with E-CAD software preferably Altium Designer, Understanding of datasheets of electronic parts)
IPC-A-610 certification (current or lapsed)
Responsibilities:
Manual PCBA and cable assembly: We often need to perform hand-assembly of PCBAs and cables due to schedule constraints. Candidates will build cables to print and perform hand placement/soldering of bare PCBs and components.
Candidates will work with Engineering to create and document test fixtures and their use: The candidate will be expected to select parts for and build test fixtures as required. This will be a combination of mechanical assembly and electrical wiring. Test setups are typically 48V and below but may be up to 120/230V. Candidates will also document the test fixture's build and usage.
Testing and documentation: Candidates will follow direction from Engineering to perform testing and record-keeping as required. Candidates may also be required to document test procedures.
Candidates may also be asked to participate in engineering reviews and analysis of prototypes and test setups.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
