We are seeking a Medical Assistant for Cardiovascular practice. This candidate ideally would also have 2 years of experience with medical office work.
He/she would be assisting with Cardiology consultations, and cardiovascular diagnostic procedures and testing. Previous experience with Cardiology is preferred. Ideally, he/she would have experience assisting with EKG, Stress Testing, and Arrhythmia monitoring, as well as rooming patients, taking vitals, and recording medical history in an Electronic medical record.
The duties would be variable based upon the physicians and office needs. You must be adaptable to meet the duties as is requested. Professionalism, regardless of the patient attitude, is expected.
Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and public is needed. Individual needs to demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email.
Job duties may include:
· Inputing all previous medical history, medications, etc in the Electronic medical record.
· Obtaining and recording the patient medical history and medications for physician consultations and follow-up visits. Input of patient’s medical information into the electronic medical recorder prior to patient’s appointments.
· Entering into the EMR all labs and imaging results.
· Providing independent diagnostic testing – EKGs, arrhythmia monitors, phlebotomy.
· Assistance to cardiologists on exams, imaging, and diagnostic testing. Assisting with diagnostic stress tests and stress imaging.
· Responding to patient calls for prescription refills. Ability to place a note in the EMR to physicians for follow up on the refills. Electronic ordering of the medications.
· Responsible for maintaining proper levels of inventory. Assists in storing and stocking supplies as needed and directed.
· Medical terminology experience
· Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification and/or CPR Certification required
· Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, physicians, and visitors
Assisting with some receptionist duties:
·Answering and triaging phone calls, scheduling of patients
· Communicating with physicians via the Electronic Record for patient
· Checking in patients, entering billing, and checking out patients once they are done with the physician appointment.
Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Work Location: In person
