What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Priests of the Sacred Heart?
The Priests of the Sacred Heart Development Office is looking for a responsible custodian to maintain our facilities. The internal appearance of a building reflects on our Organization. It is important for this position to be careful and thorough in working and cleaning and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodial role focused on maintaining a clean and healthy surrounding with a keen eye for detail .
Essential Responsibilities
1. Clean, disinfect and maintain all offices, shared spaces, restrooms, kitchen, conference rooms, etc. and any other additional assigned areas.
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, shampoo and organize areas as scheduled.
3. Stock all areas with appropriate products as needed.
4. Empty trash containers as scheduled.
5. Keep all door entry ways clean.
6. Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly duties as outlined.
7. Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Re-orders as needed.
8. Reports damage, issues, or areas of concern to management with suggestions.
9. Ability to follow all manufacturer product use recommendations.
10. Clean all interior entry windows as scheduled and in offices, as requested.
11. Perform minor repairs including changing light bulbs, repairing scratches in furniture, etc.
12. Pull out furniture and appliances to clean behind as scheduled.
13. Fulfill inventory requests as needed.
14. Assist with maintenance duties during absences or as needed.
15. Perform custodial duties at other facilities during absences and as needed.
Requirements
- 2 years custodial experience required. Prior experience in office settings preferred.
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending and kneeling while using tools and performing custodial tasks
- Valid driver's license required.
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
