DFW Steel is seeking a experienced Material Handler with leadership capabilities to assist with our daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, and/or trucks, tractors, Overhead Cranes and other equipment.
- Contribute to orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
- Picks, verifies, packages, and loads orders for shipment using provided documents and/or work orders.
- Picks material needed for work orders in various Departments and delivers to the accurate locations.
- Locate materials and supplies by correctly pulling and verifying items listed on production orders.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Inventory control, and accurately fulfill pick orders as required.
- May assemble product containers or crates.
- Manually lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Cross-trains in other departments as needed for the business.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections as required.
- Compliance with departmental SOP’s and ISO procedures.
- Adherence to Safety Standards and policies.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
