Technical Editor – Repair dept
PrideStaff San Diego's client, who is based in Rancho Bernardo and is a leader in the SaaS industry, is seeking an Technical Editor for their Repair department to join their growing team.
It’s a full-time, Mon to Friday role and a hybrid role after the training (Mon-Tue in the office and Wed-Fri remote), and the pay is $20 per hour. This is a temporary role that has potential to go permanent for the right person

Job Overview
You will research, develop, compile repair information and edit automotive manuals and company information for incorporation into the client’s database.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision of Coordinating Senior Editor, Senior Editor or Team Lead - research and compile repair, diagnostic and other pertinent data and input into on-line computer system. Information must be technically accurate and input in a format consistent with established guidelines.
- Once fully trained, maintain established productivity standards while maintaining an acceptable level of quality.
- Will work in a team environment, contributing toward the achievement of team goals and objectives. Team goals and objectives are defined by the product update schedule and budgeted hours per project as outlined in the current year budget and communicated by Coordinating Senior Editor, Senior Editor or Department Manager.
- Suggest improvements and/or enhancements for the Client’s Repair products in response to customer input or based on field knowledge of user needs.
- Maintain knowledge of comparable competitive products.
- Prepare and submit project status reports for each assignment as requested.
- Maintain professional and cooperative attitude within the Editorial Department and with all support groups.
- Must achieve a minimal working knowledge of current automotive technology, with emphasis on current group assignments.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 3 years-recent hands-on automotive industry experience with an emphasis on electrical diagnosis/drivability.
- ASE or equivalent trade certification required.
- Sufficient automotive knowledge to determine information relevant to collision repair methods and applications.
- Knowledge of latest automotive systems, diagnosis and repair procedures.
- AA or Vo-Tech degree, with mechanical repair emphasis preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Computer experience relative to input (keyboard and mouse) 30-35 WPM, minimum.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to pick-up faced-paced training and material.
- Able to work in-office as well as remote.
- Able to work overtime as required by business needs (including some Saturdays).
- High school diploma. (Completion of at least one college level writing course is desirable.)
- Reliable transportation to Rancho Bernardo.
