What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Attorney position at PrideStaff?
PrideStaff on behalf of a client located in Broward County is seeking an experienced Construction Attorney who will provide comprehensive legal oversight and counsel to multiple departments.
Responsibilities:
- Agreements and Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all agreements, permits, contracts, and intergovernmental/inter-agency cooperative agreements. This specifically covers lease agreements, business permits, service line agreements, commercial construction contracts, and utility permitting.
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance withcodes, federal regulations, and applicable fundingrequirements across departments like Real Estate, Construction Management, Planning, Public Works, Transportation, Housing, and Residential Construction.
- Advisory Role: Advising the Executive Office and leadership on real estate project planning, land use, and infrastructure development.
- Risk Management: Collaborating with department directors and the Legal Department to identify potential legal risks, develop compliance strategies, and implement policies to mitigate liability.
- Liaison: Serving as the primary liaison to the Legal Department.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably focused on: Construction, Real Estate Development and Public Infrastructure Projects
- Prior experience working as a Real Estate Attorney.
- Member of the Florida Bar Association and currently eligible to practice
- Valid Florida Driver’s License..
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
