- 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Additional shift differential included)
- 3rd Shift: Sunday – Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Additional shift differential included)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and production operations in a chemical manufacturing environment with large-scale manufacturing equipment.
The Maintenance Technician will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of plumbing systems, building systems, and production equipment. This position will also monitor production management systems to identify operational issues and equipment malfunctions.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and plumbing experience, familiarity with HVAC and industrial systems, and the ability to safely work with large-scale manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general maintenance, pipe cutting, preassembly, and installation of plumbing systems and components.
- Monitor production management systems to determine equipment operational status and identify system malfunctions.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, design, and modify production equipment related to plumbing systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
- Maintain and repair pumps, boilers, heaters, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and other plumbing components.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of hot and cold water lines and building heating systems.
- Operate pipe-cutting and plumbing tools, including reamers, threading equipment, sewer tapes, pipe cutters, snakes, and other hand tools.
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts when required.
- Assist with routine inspection and maintenance of building system components.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery as needed.
- Maintain accurate equipment operational status records and logs.
- Maintain proper care, safety, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Stay current with technological developments, equipment, and systems related to the position.
- Perform additional maintenance and job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of directly related maintenance experience required.
- A related higher degree, technical certification, or plumbing-related license may substitute for experience.
- Experience with plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment including pumps, boilers, heaters, and plumbing components.
- Ability to test, maintain, modify, and troubleshoot engineering equipment and systems.
- Ability to assist with building and testing engineering or technical systems and components.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, manuals, and specifications.
- Ability to document equipment status and prepare reports containing technical information.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, ordering, and inventory control.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely in a chemical manufacturing environment.
