Maintenance Technician / General Mechanical
Location: Danbury, CT
Salary: $55,000 – $70,000/year
Shifts Available:
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: Sunday–Friday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
- Additional shift differential included
Position Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician / General Mechanical to join our Production Facility in Danbury, CT. This position works in a chemical manufacturing environment with large-scale manufacturing equipment and supports general mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with pipe cutting, preassembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and components.
- Monitor production management systems to identify operational status and system malfunctions.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, design, and modify production equipment related to plumbing.
- Install, repair, and maintain chilled water, steam, heating, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
- Maintain and repair pumps, boilers, heaters, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and piping systems.
- Assist with installation and repair of hot and cold water lines and building heating systems.
- Operate pipe-cutting equipment, threading tools, reamers, snakes, sewer tapes, and other hand and power tools.
- May operate machine tools to fabricate parts, as well as forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building system components.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in accordance with safety requirements.
- Follow all company environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of directly related experience in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or a related field.
- A related higher degree or plumbing-related technical certification/license may substitute for experience.
- Experience with plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of pumps, boilers, heaters, valves, and other mechanical/plumbing components.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals.
- Ability to record equipment operational status and prepare technical reports.
- Proficiency with applicable hand and power tools.
- Ability to test, maintain, and modify engineering equipment and systems.
- Forklift/heavy machinery experience is a plus.
