PrideNow is urgently hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic preferably with a NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license for one of our Food Processing/Manufacturing clients in Newark, NJ.
Job Type: Direct Hire/Permanent
Pay range: $35/hr.
Shift: 6am-3pm or 4pm, flexible for OT as needed
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime
- Perform basic PLC troubleshooting (no programming required)
- Maintain documentation for work orders and maintenance logs
- Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements
- Assist with installation, assembly, and commissioning of new machinery
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
- Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Knowledge of high-pressure steam boilers ops
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic (preferably in food processing/manufacturing)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on conveyors, mixers, ovens, pumps, motors, baggers, fillers, wrappers, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics required
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with CMMS systems a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, stand, and work in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work safely and follow plant safety policies
- Hold/Obtain NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license
