Pay: $24.04/hour to $26.52/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

We are looking for a EHS Specialist / Trainer to join our team in Oak Creek. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with employees, supervisors, and operations to deliver safety training, identify workplace hazards, support safety programs, and strengthen a culture of safety across the facility.

What You'll Do

• Conduct safety and health training for new hires, employees, and supervisors.
• Maintain accurate electronic and physical safety training records for audits.
• Ensure employees receive required training in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
• Support and administer safety programs including:
• Hazard Communication
• PPE and Hazard Assessments
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Confined Space Entry
• Bloodborne Pathogens / Exposure Control
• Emergency Action Plans
• Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and GEMBA safety audits.
• Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits to identify and help eliminate hazards.
• Audit LOTO, PPE, and industrial hazard controls.
• Support the Return-to-Work / light-duty program.
• Partner with operations to help reduce workplace injuries and workers' compensation claims.
• Analyze safety data and identify trends related to hazards, incidents, and occurrences.
• Communicate safety concerns and recommendations to management and employees.
• Work with other departments to implement new procedures, processes, and safety improvements.
• Translate safety documents and information between English and Spanish.
• Serve as a resource for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding safety questions and concerns.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of safety-related work experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English with the ability to translate both written and spoken information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.
• Ability to work comfortably in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Studies, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Experience with conveyor safety and machine guarding.
• Experience in food manufacturing or another industrial environment.
• GSP, ASP, or CRSP certification.

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't solely a desk-based EHS position. You'll have regular interaction with employees and operations and will spend time throughout the plant training, auditing, identifying hazards, and helping teams improve safety practices.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute across several areas of EHS, including OSHA compliance, employee training, hazard identification, safety audits, LOTO, PPE, machine safety, incident trends, and continuous improvement.

Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will be an important part of helping employees understand and follow safe work practices.

Work Environment

This position combines office and plant-floor responsibilities within a food manufacturing facility.

The facility may include temperature-controlled environments ranging from approximately -10°F to 85°F, as well as exposure to noise, chemicals, biohazards, and other industrial hazards.

The role requires regular standing and walking throughout the facility. Employees may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
