Job Description
- Maintain the HVAC system to ensure proper air quality and comfortable temperatures throughout the building
- Monitor plumbing system; adjust domestic hot water system as needed
- Test security systems and plumbing systems; ensure code compliance per state and federal guidelines
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of all aspects of building including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry and large and small appliances
- Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments
- Maintain work order, log all system checks as outlined by regulations
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on building, machines and equipment
- Maintain community vehicle including washing, filling with gas and current registration; drive vehicle as needed
- Transport residents to appointments
- Maintain clean and orderly areas including community grounds, trash and sweeping as needed
- Keep regular stock of emergency, disaster and other supplies as needed
- Prepare rooms for move-ins and move-outs including repairs, paint touch-ups and moving furniture and personal belongings
- Respond to work order requests and concerns from residents, families and co-workers
- Working with the Director, train team members on systems and fire and disaster procedures
- Work Monday through Friday
- On call every other weekend
Education/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in maintenance position working with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
- Knowledge of fire and safety codes and regulations preferred
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other equipment as needed
- Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work collaboratively with all coworkers
- Experience in health care setting preferred * Exhibit caring and compassionate attitude towards others
- Must submit to all applicable pre-employment and annual tests per state and federal regulations
- Drivers license

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
