Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment to load and unload shipments efficiently
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning tools to track materials accurately
- Pick and prepare orders with precision using order picker equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on equipment; perform basic repairs as needed to ensure optimal operation
- Handle materials manually when necessary, including heavy lifting and manual handling tasks following OSHA safety standards
- Maintain organized storage areas, perform inventory counts, and support warehouse distribution efforts to optimize space utilization
Skills
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo machinery
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management procedures
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes along with proper materials handling techniques
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting heavy equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling best practices
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, order picking calculations, and measurement tasks
- Warehouse experience with distribution centers or similar environments is highly preferred
