Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations for high-risk pregnancies in an ambulatory clinical setting. The MFM Sonographer will work closely with maternal-fetal medicine physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to evaluate fetal development, maternal anatomy, and vascular structures while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-risk obstetric imaging, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to quality and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations for high-risk obstetric patients.
• Conduct specialized studies including Level II anatomy scans, fetal echocardiography, NT screenings, BPPs, growth scans, Doppler studies, and cervical length evaluations.
• Assist with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures, including amniocentesis.
• Prepare, educate, and position patients while ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Acquire high-quality diagnostic images, review patient history, and communicate findings to physicians.
• Document imaging results, maintain accurate records, and ensure equipment functionality and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and participate in quality improvement and continuing education initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing high-risk obstetric ultrasound in a hospital or Maternal Fetal Medicine setting.
• Strong knowledge of fetal anatomy, maternal-fetal physiology, Doppler ultrasound, and high-risk pregnancy imaging.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control practices, and quality assurance standards.

Preferred

• Additional experience in fetal echocardiography and advanced maternal-fetal imaging.
• Experience assisting with invasive fetal procedures such as amniocentesis.
• Participation in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.

Important Details:

• 13-week contract position (extensions available)
• Shift is Mon–Thu: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Fri: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 5 days/week, 36 hrs/week
• Location is Abilene, TX 79601
• Pay Range for Locals: $58 - $62 per hour
• Pay Range for Travelers: $2,400 - $2,450 per week
