Position: Surgical Technologist
Location: Zanesville, OH
Shift: Days: 4x10 days
Contract: 12 weeks
Weekly Gross: $2300
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to support a high-acuity operating room environment. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience across multiple specialties, including Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, and Vascular procedures. Candidates without current, full-spectrum experience in these areas will not be considered. This role requires critical thinking, flexibility, and the ability to float to General OR or Outpatient Surgery Center as patient volumes and staffing demands fluctuate.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and sterile supplies for complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
- Assist surgeons during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining proper sterile technique.
- Perform surgical counts and document all instruments and materials used.
- Support high-acuity procedures in:
- Orthopedic surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Vascular surgery
- General Surgery and Outpatient Surgery as needed
- Maintain knowledge of surgical instrumentation, central processing procedures, and OR protocols.
- Adhere to infection control policies, patient safety protocols, and hospital standards.'
Education & Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program – required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – preferred but not required
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in high-acuity surgical specialties, including Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, and Vascular procedures
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making in fast-paced environments
- Strong knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to float between specialties and adapt to variable patient volumes
- Attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and strict adherence to sterile technique
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
