Job Title: Central Sterile Technician
Location: Boston, MA 02115
Contract Duration: 13 weeks probable extension
Shift: Day/Evening/Night
Pay Rate: $30/hr - $32/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization, decontamination, and processing of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Process both general and specialty surgical instruments according to established procedures.
- Assemble and reset instrument trays accurately based on established tray listings.
- Prepare surgical trays and equipment for storage, issue, or further sterilization.
- Decontaminate instruments and equipment following infection prevention protocols.
- Maintain Central Sterile Department inventory and stock levels.
- Assemble case carts accurately to support surgical procedures.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before sterilization.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with sterilization standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to sterilization and instrument processing.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control procedures, and industry standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience preferred.
- Experience processing general and specialty surgical instruments.
- Knowledge of instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization procedures.
- Experience assembling surgical case carts.
- Familiarity with materials management and regulatory standards.
- Ability to perform quality inspections of instruments, equipment, and sterilization processes.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Required Certification
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–4 years of recent Sterile Processing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
