Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility in Baltimore, MD. This is a 6 - month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Title: Specimen Processing - Specimen Technician
Location: Baltimore MD 21227
Pay Rate: $17.20/hr - 22/hr on W2.
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: Monday - Friday 8pm to 4:30am
*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen processing tasks including presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and imaging.
- Accurately enter high‐volume data (6,000 keystrokes/hr) with strong attention to detail.
- Handle and understand various specimen types and related test orders.
- Follow safety, biohazard handling, and compliance regulations.
- Maintain productivity standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
Job Requirements:
- Strong data entry skills with ability to type 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour accurately.
- basic computer skills required (medical/lab terminology preferred
- Detail‐oriented, organized, and able to learn different specimen types and compliance regulations.
- Comfortable working in a production and biohazard environment, following all safety procedures.
- Flexible schedule — must be able to work night shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime; 15% shift differential applies.
- Own reliable transportation & a valid DL
- Have excellent understanding of English language both spoken and written
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
