Specimen Technician

Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility in Beaufort, SC. This is a 3 - month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Specimen Processing - Specimen Technician

Location: Beaufort, SC 29906

Pay Rate: $17/hr -17.20/hr on W2.

Duration: 3 Months

Shift: Monday to Friday 11am – 5pm EST

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform specimen processing tasks including presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and imaging.
• Accurately enter high‐volume data (6,000 keystrokes/hr) with strong attention to detail.
• Handle and understand various specimen types and related test orders.
• Follow safety, biohazard handling, and compliance regulations.
• Maintain productivity standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
  

Job Requirements:​​​​​​​

• Strong data entry skills with ability to type 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour accurately.
• basic computer skills required (medical/lab terminology preferred
• Detail‐oriented, organized, and able to learn different specimen types and compliance regulations.
• Comfortable working in a production and biohazard environment, following all safety procedures.
• Flexible schedule — must be able to work night shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime; 15% shift differential applies.
• Own reliable transportation & a valid DL
• Have excellent understanding of English language both spoken and written
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
