Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Processor I to support our client’s medical facility in Wilmington OH 45177. This is a 5-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title: Specimen Processor I
Location: Wilmington OH 45177
Duration: 5 Months
Pay rate: $18-19 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday & Friday: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
- Tuesday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 6:30 PM
*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen accessioning, sorting, and data entry
- Introduce and prepare biological specimens for laboratory testing
- Open specimens and transfer into secondary containers
- Verify patient demographic information with requisition forms
- Unpack and route specimens to staging areas
- Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities when required
- Properly prepare and store excess samples
- Resolve and document problem specimens
- Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste
- Operate automated instrumentation under supervision
Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue)
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/sit for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 0–2 years of work experience
Preferred Skills:
- Specimen processing experience
- Comfortable working in a team environment
