Contract: 8 Weeks with potential extension
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM | 3 Days per Week
Guaranteed Hours per Week: 37.50
Pay Range: $2,300 - $2,500 per week
Job Summary
Pride Health is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a travel contract opportunity in Summit, NJ. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative nursing experience and be proficient in both circulating and scrubbing surgical procedures. This role will support a busy Operating Room environment with a focus on Orthopedic, General Surgery, Urology, and Robotic procedures.
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Perform pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient assessments.
• Function as both Circulating Nurse and Scrub Nurse during surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical teams during Orthopedic, General Surgery, Urology, and Robotic cases.
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes during procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety protocols, infection prevention standards, and universal precautions.
• Educate patients and family members regarding surgical procedures and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in operating room equipment, emergency procedures, and surgical instrumentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional nursing standards.
Requirements
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Minimum one (1) year of Operating Room RN experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate.
• Experience with Orthopedic, General Surgery, Urology, and Robotic procedures required.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and surgical patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume acute care surgical setting.
