Job Title: Reimbursement Specialist
Location: Sarasota, FL, 34238
Duration: 11-Week Contract with Chances of Extension
Schedule: 8x5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor insurance claim status and perform follow-up on unpaid, rejected, denied, or returned claims.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and reimbursement issues with commercial and managed care payers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of account activity, claim follow-up, and collection efforts.
- Work closely with clearinghouses, insurance companies, and internal teams to ensure timely payment resolution.
- Handle high-volume collections activities with strong attention to detail and urgency.
- Analyze account balances and determine appropriate actions for claim resolution and reimbursement recovery.
- Communicate professionally with payers and vendors regarding billing inquiries and payment issues.
- Utilize EMR and billing systems to update account information and manage workflow efficiently.
- Assist with billing-related reporting, audits, and additional revenue cycle projects as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of current billing and collections experience required.
- Strong collections and insurance follow-up experience required.
- Commercial payer experience required.
- Hospice or Medicare Part A experience preferred.
- Experience working with clearinghouses and insurance denials management preferred.
- Homecare Homebase or WellSky (Kinnser) experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing workflows required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, billing applications, and data entry systems required.
