Registered Nurse Educator

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Perioperative Nurse Educator to join a leading acute care facility in New York, NY. This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with a strong perioperative and Med/Surg background who is passionate about staff education, clinical excellence, and supporting nursing professional development in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Pay: $70-75/hour

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Schedule: 5*8 (40 hours/weekly)

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Start Date: 06/15/2026

Role Overview:

The Perioperative Nurse Educator will support nursing staff through clinical education, competency development, training programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives. The educator will work collaboratively with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care, promote best practices, and enhance staff clinical performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver educational programs for perioperative and nursing staff
• Provide clinical support, mentoring, and guidance to nursing personnel
• Assess staff learning needs and implement competency-based training programs
• Support orientation and onboarding for new nursing staff
• Promote evidence-based nursing practice and patient safety initiatives
• Collaborate with leadership to improve clinical outcomes and staff performance
• Assist in maintaining compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and accreditation standards
• Participate in quality improvement and staff development initiatives
• Maintain accurate educational records and competency documentation
• Serve as a clinical resource for perioperative and Med/Surg nursing practice

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN License required
• Primary Source Verification through NYSED required
• AHA BLS Certification required
• Master’s Degree in Education required
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative background required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Strong clinical expertise and teaching abilities
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
