The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to established protocols. This role involves patient positioning, equipment operation, and collaboration with healthcare providers to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures by properly positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently for various imaging procedures
- Limit radiation exposure by using proper collimation and protective techniques
- Conduct portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency settings
- Accurately label and process imaging studies, ensuring correct patient identification and image documentation
- Prepare and assist with the administration of radiopaque contrast media as directed by physicians
- Complete patient requisitions and maintain accurate imaging and procedural records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment
- Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and comfort during procedures
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient instructions, and record maintenance
- Adapt care delivery to meet diverse patient needs, including age, culture, and physical or communication limitations
- Adhere to organizational standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
- Completion of required clinical training and eligibility for A.R.R.T. certification
- Must possess a valid New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License
- Ability to meet requirements for and successfully pass the ARRT certification exam
- Knowledge of radiographic positioning and imaging techniques
- Understanding of radiation safety and patient protection standards
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition and documentation
- Ability to provide patient-centered care and support
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to assist patients and stand for extended periods

- Shift is 8 hrs/day shift, 40 hrs/week
