We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist (Radiographer) to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for producing accurate diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety, maintaining imaging equipment, and collaborating with healthcare providers to support timely diagnosis and treatment. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Evaluate images for quality, accuracy, and diagnostic value prior to submission.
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control practices.
- Verify patient identification and ensure proper documentation of imaging procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to support patient care.
- Monitor and report equipment issues and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain professional competency through continuing education.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent military radiology training required.
- Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License (NYSDOH) required.
- BLS certification preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of General Radiography experience required.
- Experience performing routine diagnostic imaging and radiographic procedures.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of General Radiography and Diagnostic Imaging procedures.
- Skilled in patient positioning and image quality assessment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety standards and infection prevention practices.
- Strong patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with medical documentation and imaging records management.
- Proficient in radiology equipment operation and basic equipment maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented healthcare environment.
Important Details:
- 14-week contract position (extensions available)
- Shift is 7.5 hours per overnight (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM), 37.5 hrs/week
- Location is Bronx, NY 10451
- Pay Range for Locals: $55 - $60 per hour
- Pay Range for Travelers: $2,550 - $2,600 per week
