Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Pearland, TX 77584 . This is a 3-month contract opportunity and a great way to gain experience in a primary care setting!
Job Details:
- Job Name: Medical Assistant
- Location: Pearland, TX 77584
- Duration: 3-month Contract
- Payrate: $21 - $23/hr. on W2 (Pay rate based on experience and certifications)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the phone queue, handle in basket messages, and provide timely, accurate responses to patients and clinical staff.
- Log and track patient communications, messages, and inquiries through the EMR system.
- Maintain patient records, documentation, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Room patients, take vital signs, record patient history, and verify medication lists.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures including injections, immunizations, and selected laboratory tests.
- Perform basic clinical duties as authorized, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Support front desk workflows during training, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and verification of patient information.
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patient visits to maintain clinical standards and infection control.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and smooth daily operations.
- Participate in the transition from onsite training to remote workflow while maintaining high-quality patient support.
Requirements:
- Completed Medical Assistant training program
- NRCMA or RMA certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a primary care or healthcare clinic setting
- Proficient in managing phone queues, in basket messages, and basic EMR documentation
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
