Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws using proper phlebotomy techniques while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Conduct point-of-care (POC) testing in accordance with laboratory protocols and quality standards.
- Accurately process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and preparing samples for transport or analysis.
- Complete manifesting of specimens, ensuring correct documentation, tracking, and chain of custody.
- Verify patient identity and test orders prior to collection to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain infection control practices and follow safety, HIPAA, and laboratory guidelines at all times.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid MAP License.
- Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy and specimen handling.
