Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater

Location: Southfield, MI 48075

Duration: 06 Month Contract (Possibility of extension or conversion)

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm

Pay Rate: $28/hour (W2) (Based on experience and education)

Job Summary:

The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) serves as a key patient-facing professional, representing the company in both clinical and service environments. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection, processing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and patient-centred experience.

As a floater, the PSR III travels between multiple locations—including patient service centres, doctors’ offices, and in-office phlebotomy sites—based on business needs. The role requires strong leadership behaviours, adaptability, and a commitment to process excellence, confidentiality, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
• Collect blood specimens using proper techniques, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ensure proper patient identification and verify demographic information before specimen collection.
• Obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling of specimens.
• Prepare, label, and process specimens according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and patient interactions.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service and foster a positive patient experience.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold company policies, procedures, and dress code.
• Travel to multiple locations and provide coverage with minimal notice as required.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to follow established procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing work environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).
• Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites as needed.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
• Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)

Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required), including paediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Centre environment (Preferred)
• Prior customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Preferred)
• Strong keyboard and data entry skills (Required)
