Job Description – Entry Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I / Lobby Experience Coordinator)
Position Title: Entry Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I / Lobby Experience Coordinator)
Location: Indian Harbour Beach FL 32937
Pay Rate: $17.74/hour on W2
Duration: Contract
Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 2:00pm EST, Saturday 6:30am - 12:30pm EST
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional, and compassionate experience.
- Assist patients with the check-in process using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Answer patient questions and help create a comfortable waiting environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and waiting area.
- Provide phlebotomy support by performing venipuncture and specimen collection to cover staff breaks and shortages.
- Collect, label, process, and prepare clinical and forensic specimens following established laboratory procedures.
- Verify patient identity and explain collection procedures to ensure a safe and positive patient experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Perform assigned duties accurately and efficiently under the direction of the area supervisor while promoting a positive image of the organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer-facing experience required (retail, hospitality, healthcare, home health, etc.).
- Basic keyboard and data entry skills required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Preferred Skills
- Experience performing venipuncture and capillary collections.
- Knowledge of specimen processing and laboratory safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care and excellent customer service.
- Willingness to learn new skills and support both lobby operations and specimen collection duties.
