Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to support a leading acute care facility. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver effective treatment. This is a contract opportunity with potential for extension.

Pay: $52-57/hourly

Shift: Night Shift (3×12 hours) | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: 05/18/2026

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced, acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric care and be comfortable working night shifts, including rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments to pediatric patients

• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient respiratory status

• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support

• Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care support

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols

• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and treatment plans

Requirements:

• Active Illinois state license (must be in hand at submission)

• Required certifications: NRP and PALS

• Level 1 Trauma experience required
