Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a PICU/CICU Float Nurse. This role requires flexibility and expertise to provide high-quality critical care to pediatric and cardiac intensive care patients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling complex cases and comfortable floating between PICU and CICU units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in PICU and CICU settings
- Monitor, assess, and manage critically ill pediatric patients
- Operate and manage advanced life support equipment, including ECMO, VAD, and CRRT
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Respond effectively to emergency situations
Requirements:
- Active New York State RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (PICU/CICU preferred)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Strong experience with ECMO, VAD, CRRT, and central line management
- Ability to adapt quickly and float between units
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
